A presentation and discussion led by John Whalen, Director, User Experience & Design at e.magination:

Description:
Humans are far from perfectly logical. There have been a slew of new books out there linking what Psychologists have known for years with our everyday behavior. However, we’re only just beginning to use some of these principles effectively online. Find out what the principles are, see pragmatic examples of what we’re talking about and how you might be able to put them to work for you. Bring in your site or web address and we can discuss it in context.

About John Whalen:
John Whalen has a PhD in Cognitive Science with 10 years of User-Centered Design experience. John’s specialty is improving user experience using a mix of one part in-depth user study, one part business needs, and one part use of expert knowledge of human vision, visual attention, memory and language. John has experience working with Fortune 500 clients in the financial, healthcare, eCommerce and government verticals. John's latest research interests are how social networking is influencing online activities, the extent to which persuasive design will impact user behavior, and measuring the user experience using eye tracking and evaluating ‘neuromarketing’ techniques.
